Help The River Spread "The Word" - March 20th and 27th
This Easter season, The River church body will be distributing personal invitations to our entire ministry area. We'd love to let as many people as possible know about the love of Christ and the "new beginning" that is found when you are in relationship with Him.
In order to accomplish that, we will need lots of River volunteers willing to pass out the approximate 5,000 invitations to Easter services. We will meet 2 consecutive Sundays, March 20th and March 27th at 9am. If you cannot meet at those times and would still like to help, please contact Bill Hill (wbhsimco@aol.com or 281.346.0019) to make arrangements.
For Parents with young children: We will have childcare available for the March 20th event. Please contact Kristen Cooley to reserve no later than Weds, March 17th, kristen@jerrycooley.com or 281.660.8846.
March 20th Location:
Meet at The River's land in Lakemont Subdivision (at the end of Lakemont Bend Dr)
March 27th Location:
Wachovia Bank parking lot (intersection of Mason Rd & Grand Pkwy in Waterside Estates)
Childcare Now Available - Tuesday Evenings
For all River parents currently involved in a REAL group (or who would like to be!), we are now offering childcare on Tuesday evenings so that you may attend your group meetings. Cost is $5 per child and reservations must be made by Sunday evenings. Drop off is at a home in the Waterside Estates subdivision. Please write childcare@theriverumc.com if you would like to take advantage of this great opportunity!
Join the Call of The River
If you are interested in joining The River church body as a "Servant Minister", we will have our next Membership Sunday on March 21st during worship services. Becoming a Servant Minister is the opportunity to officially join the calling and the ministry of The River.
We passionately believe that Jesus called his followers to be servants of others. In light of that conviction, instead of "members", those who join The River are committing to be servants in the name of Christ. Our prayer is as we faithfully respond to Christ's commission, more lives may be radically transformed by knowing Jesus Christ.
